Insurance for Arizona pool builders and pool service companies.

Excavation, shotcrete, plumbing, electrical, chemicals and backyard access — a pool job touches almost every exposure in construction. We check that your policies cover the whole build, and that your service routes are insured for chemicals and the trucks that carry them.

What we check for you

  • Excavation and structural work on your GL
  • Chemical handling and pollution exclusions
  • Service route trucks and hired & non-owned auto
  • Equipment — excavators, pumps, shotcrete rigs
  • Sub certificates for plaster, tile, electrical and plumbing
Who this is for

Contract requirements you’ll see

What homeowners’ lenders, HOAs and commercial owners ask for.

Commercial and HOA pool contracts, and some residential lenders, typically ask for:

  • Additional insured status for the GC and owner, including completed operations (often on CG 20 10 / CG 20 37 forms or their equivalents)
  • Primary & non-contributory wording, so your policy pays before theirs
  • Waiver of subrogation on GL, workers’ comp, auto and umbrella
  • Per-project aggregate so one job can’t use up the limit for every other job
  • Minimum limits — commonly $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate, plus an umbrella

Send us the insurance page of your contract

Before you sign, forward the insurance requirements (usually an exhibit or a paragraph titled “Insurance”). We’ll tell you what your current policies already meet, what needs an endorsement, and what it would cost to close the gap — before the GC’s risk manager rejects your certificate.

Coverage

Every line priced at minimum, standard and higher limits — with your contract requirements as the floor, not an afterthought.

Pollution

Pollution / chemical liability

Chlorine and acid handling and storage are commonly excluded from GL.

Workers’ comp

Workers’ compensation

Builders, service techs and office staff in the correct classes.

Auto

Commercial auto

Service route trucks carrying chemicals, and equipment haulers.

Equipment

Contractors equipment

Excavators, skid steers, shotcrete and plaster rigs, pumps.

Excess

Umbrella / excess

Extra limits for commercial and HOA pools.

Typical risks

Where pool contractors get hurt.

  • Damage to a neighbor’s wall, utility line or landscaping during excavation
  • Chemical exposure or spill with no pollution coverage
  • Shell cracking and defect claims years after completion
  • A service tech’s truck accident with chemicals on board
  • Subs without their own workers’ comp added to your audit
How it works

Honest timing, start to finish.

  1. Send us what you haveUpload your dec pages or policies (GL, workers’ comp, auto, equipment, umbrella) or email them to [email protected]. Add your EMR worksheet and a sample contract’s insurance section if you have them.
  2. Written Cost & Risk report within 24 hours of receiving your documentsWe read every line: class codes, experience mod, limits against your contract requirements, endorsements, exclusions and gaps. This is the review — not carrier quotes.
  3. A 15-minute callWe walk you through what we found, in plain English. If nothing needs fixing, we tell you that — you keep the report either way.
  4. If you want options, we shop itWe market your account to multiple carriers in our network. Carrier quotes typically take 1–2 business days once underwriters have what they need (payroll by class, loss runs, vehicle and equipment lists).
FAQ

Pool contractor insurance questions.

Are pool chemicals covered by my GL?
Often not. Many GL policies exclude pollution, which can include chemical releases. A pollution or chemical endorsement or separate policy may be needed.
I only do pool service — do I need the same coverage as a builder?
No. Service companies need GL, auto and workers’ comp rated for service work, with attention to chemicals. Builders add excavation, structural and completed-operations exposure.
What do you need to review my program?
Dec pages for your current policies, your workers’ comp experience mod if you have one, and a sample contract. You’ll get a written report within 24 hours of receiving them.
