Insurance for Arizona plumbers — because water damage claims don’t read the fine print.

A failed fitting can flood a finished house or a whole floor of a building. We check how your GL handles water damage and completed work, whether mold or backflow is excluded, and whether your vans, tools and techs are covered the way you think.

What we check for you

  • Water-damage and mold exclusions on your GL
  • Completed-operations limits for new construction
  • Service vans, tools and parts inventory
  • Class codes for plumbers, apprentices and service techs
  • Pollution coverage for sewer and backflow work
Who this is for

Plumbing, fire protection and water licenses.

Residential service and repair plumbers, new-construction and commercial plumbing contractors, fire sprinkler and fire protection contractors, and water conditioning installers.

Contract requirements you’ll see

What GCs, HOAs and property managers ask plumbers for.

Sub agreements and service agreements typically require:

  • Additional insured status for the GC and owner, including completed operations (often on CG 20 10 / CG 20 37 forms or their equivalents)
  • Primary & non-contributory wording, so your policy pays before theirs
  • Waiver of subrogation on GL, workers’ comp, auto and umbrella
  • Per-project aggregate so one job can’t use up the limit for every other job
  • Minimum limits — commonly $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate, plus an umbrella
  • Notice of cancellation to the certificate holder

Send us the insurance page of your contract

Before you sign, forward the insurance requirements (usually an exhibit or a paragraph titled “Insurance”). We’ll tell you what your current policies already meet, what needs an endorsement, and what it would cost to close the gap — before the GC’s risk manager rejects your certificate.

Coverage

Coverage for the pipe, the truck and the flood.

Every line priced at minimum, standard and higher limits — with your contract requirements as the floor, not an afterthought.

Liability

General liability

With attention to water-damage, mold and completed-operations terms — the claims plumbers actually see.

Pollution

Contractors pollution liability

Sewage backups, mold and fuel releases are commonly excluded from GL.

Workers’ comp

Workers’ compensation

Plumbers, apprentices, service techs and office staff in their correct classes.

Auto

Commercial auto

Service vans and trucks, plus hired & non-owned auto.

Equipment

Tools & equipment

Jetters, cameras, threaders and parts inventory on the truck or on site.

Excess

Umbrella / excess

Extra limits for commercial, multifamily and HOA contracts.

Bonds

License & contract bonds

License and contract bonds: tell us what you need (ROC license bond, bid, performance or payment bond) and we’ll check whether we can place it through our network. We can’t promise every bond, but we’ll give you a straight answer.

Typical risks

Where plumbing contractors get hurt.

  • A water-damage claim limited or excluded by a mold or “your work” exclusion
  • Sewer or backflow contamination with no pollution coverage
  • Fire sprinkler work not described on a general plumbing policy
  • Tools and parts stolen from a van
  • Techs driving personal vehicles with no hired & non-owned auto
How it works

Honest timing, start to finish.

  1. Send us what you haveUpload your dec pages or policies (GL, workers’ comp, auto, equipment, umbrella) or email them to [email protected]. Add your EMR worksheet and a sample contract’s insurance section if you have them.
  2. Written Cost & Risk report within 24 hours of receiving your documentsWe read every line: class codes, experience mod, limits against your contract requirements, endorsements, exclusions and gaps. This is the review — not carrier quotes.
  3. A 15-minute callWe walk you through what we found, in plain English. If nothing needs fixing, we tell you that — you keep the report either way.
  4. If you want options, we shop itWe market your account to multiple carriers in our network. Carrier quotes typically take 1–2 business days once underwriters have what they need (payroll by class, loss runs, vehicle and equipment lists).
FAQ

Plumbing contractor insurance questions.

Does my GL cover water damage from my work?
Often yes for sudden damage to other property, but terms vary: some policies limit mold, exclude damage to “your work” itself, or restrict completed operations. We read your actual policy and tell you where the gaps are.
Do I need pollution coverage as a plumber?
If you work on sewer lines, backflow, or anything that can release sewage or mold, it’s worth a look — most GL policies exclude pollution.
Is fire sprinkler work covered under my plumbing policy?
Not automatically. Fire protection is usually its own classification with its own underwriting. The policy needs to describe it.
What do you need to review my program?
Your current dec pages, your workers’ comp policy and experience mod worksheet if you have one, and a sample of your contract insurance requirements. Loss runs help if you want us to shop it.
