Insurance for Arizona landscape, hardscape and irrigation contractors.

Crews, trucks, trailers and equipment spread across the Valley every day. We make sure your GL covers the hardscape and irrigation work you do (not just maintenance), your crews are in the right class, and your equipment is scheduled at what it’s worth.

What we check for you

  • Maintenance vs. installation vs. hardscape on your GL
  • Landscape and hardscape class codes for workers’ comp
  • Trucks, trailers and hired & non-owned auto
  • Mowers, skid steers and small equipment
  • Chemical application and pollution exclusions
Who this is for

Hardscape and irrigation licenses.

Landscape installation and maintenance companies, hardscape and paver contractors, irrigation installers, and retaining wall and outdoor living builders.

Classification names are summarized. Some landscape work (like masonry walls or grading) may fall under other ROC classifications — confirm on roc.az.gov. DANESURE is not affiliated with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors.

Contract requirements you’ll see

What HOAs, property managers and GCs ask for.

Maintenance agreements and construction sub agreements typically require:

  • Additional insured status for the GC and owner, including completed operations (often on CG 20 10 / CG 20 37 forms or their equivalents)
  • Primary & non-contributory wording, so your policy pays before theirs
  • Waiver of subrogation on GL, workers’ comp, auto and umbrella
  • Per-project aggregate so one job can’t use up the limit for every other job
  • Minimum limits — commonly $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate, plus an umbrella

Send us the insurance page of your contract

Before you sign, forward the insurance requirements (usually an exhibit or a paragraph titled “Insurance”). We’ll tell you what your current policies already meet, what needs an endorsement, and what it would cost to close the gap — before the GC’s risk manager rejects your certificate.

Coverage

Coverage for crews spread across the Valley.

Every line priced at minimum, standard and higher limits — with your contract requirements as the floor, not an afterthought.

Liability

General liability

Including hardscape and irrigation installation, not just maintenance — and completed operations for walls and pavers.

Workers’ comp

Workers’ compensation

Landscape, hardscape and office payroll allocated correctly; experience mod reviewed.

Auto

Commercial auto

Crew trucks, dump trailers and hired & non-owned auto.

Equipment

Contractors equipment

Mowers, skid steers, trenchers and hand tools — on trailers, in the yard or on site.

Pollution

Pesticide / herbicide coverage

Chemical application is often excluded or limited on GL; we check what your policy allows.

Excess

Umbrella / excess

For HOA and commercial property management contracts.

Typical risks

Where landscape contractors get hurt.

  • A rock kicked up by a mower through a car window or storefront
  • An irrigation leak undermining a slab or wall
  • Retaining wall failure years after installation
  • Trailer theft with equipment on it
  • Heat-related injuries on summer crews
How it works

Honest timing, start to finish.

  1. Send us what you haveUpload your dec pages or policies (GL, workers’ comp, auto, equipment, umbrella) or email them to [email protected]. Add your EMR worksheet and a sample contract’s insurance section if you have them.
  2. Written Cost & Risk report within 24 hours of receiving your documentsWe read every line: class codes, experience mod, limits against your contract requirements, endorsements, exclusions and gaps. This is the review — not carrier quotes.
  3. A 15-minute callWe walk you through what we found, in plain English. If nothing needs fixing, we tell you that — you keep the report either way.
  4. If you want options, we shop itWe market your account to multiple carriers in our network. Carrier quotes typically take 1–2 business days once underwriters have what they need (payroll by class, loss runs, vehicle and equipment lists).
FAQ

Landscape and hardscape insurance questions.

Does a landscape maintenance policy cover hardscape installation?
Not always. Maintenance and installation are often rated and described differently. If you build walls, patios or install irrigation, the policy should say so.
Is my equipment covered on the trailer?
Only with contractors equipment (inland marine) coverage. Auto covers the truck and trailer, not the equipment on it.
Can you review my policies if I’m mid-term?
Yes. The review is free at any point in your policy period; some fixes (like a missing endorsement) can be made mid-term.
